Police looking for suspect in Benton Township shooting

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich.—Police have not located any suspects involved in an early morning shooting on Thursday is Benton Township.

Officers were sent to the 1100 block of Highland, at Blossom Acres Housing, for reports of a shooting victim at about 2:19 a.m. on Thursday.

Once on scene, officers located 22-year-old Dalonte Carter of Benton Harbor, who was laying on the ground in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to the right leg and abdomen.

Carter was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.

As of the time of this writing, officers had not located a suspect or suspects.
