Police: New Carlisle man tries to rob 7-Eleven with a pair of scissors

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A New Carlisle man who police said tried to rob a South Bend 7-Eleven is now locked up.

It's all thanks to some brave customers.

Police said 29-year-old Adam Leonard walked into the Miami Street store with a pair of scissors, and demanded cash.

That's when customers tackled him. One man even cut his hand.

According to police, Leonard has a "raging drug habit", and confessed to other robberies and attempted robberies.
