Police on scene of shooting in Benton Harbor, one confirmed dead one injured

Update: Benton Harbor Police said that the suspect is in custody. Another person was shot and injured in this shooting. They are in the hospital, but their injuries are unknown at the time.

Update: Benton Harbor Police tell ABC57 that this is a deadly shooting. One man was shot and has died. 

Update: Witnesses tell ABC57 one man has been shot. There is no word on his condition.

Benton Harbor Police confirm that the shooting took place in a vacant lot, across the street from Robbins Brothers Funeral Home.

Benton Harbor Police, Benton Township Police, Berrien County Sheriffs and Coloma Police are all at the scene.

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Berrien County dispatch received a call about a shooting on S Fair Avenue around 8:20 p.m., dispatch confirmed.

At this time the exact location and possible injuries are unknown. Dispatch did confirm that crews were still at the scene.
