Police pursuit from Michigan to Indiana ends in crash, two people arrested

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Ironwood Drive and Bell Road in Milton Township just before 3 p.m. on Friday.

Authorities say the vehicle stopped on the side of Ironwood Road and proceeded to flee the scene when deputies approached.

Deputies pursued the vehicle for a time before the suspect’s vehicle was attempting to go through a curve at Adams Road and Stateline Road when the vehicle lost control and crashed into the fence at St. Patrick’s County Park.

The suspect driver, 42-year-old Scott Reed of South Bend, then ran from the wrecked vehicle, leading deputies to pursue him.

Reed eventually gave up and was placed in custody. There was a passenger, 41-year-old Melissa Wolf of Mishawaka, inside reed's vehicle as well.

Officials say both Reed and Wolf were found to be in possession of Methamphetamine.

St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, of Indiana, placed both suspects in custody due to the vehicle crashing in Indiana.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office will be submitting charges for Reed and Wolf. There were no injuries sustained during the incident.
