Police respond to shooting in Goshen

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – Goshen Police Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of N 5th Street in reference to a shooting this morning around 12 a.m.

As officers arrived they met the victim, Sarah Marshall, 31 years old, who had experienced a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower leg.

The victim stated that she heard a noise in her home and found an unknown male standing in her house. The victim retrieved her handgun and approached the male.

A short struggle for the weapon ensued during which time Marshall was shot in the leg.

The suspect fled from the home in an unknown direction.

The suspect has not been identified or located.

Marshall was transported to the Goshen General Hospital where she is being treated for her leg wounds.

There is no description of the suspect other than being a male.
