Police responded to a call of a crash involving a bicycle Thursday just before noon.

South Bend Dispatch says they received a call of an injury accident involving a bicycle and a vehicle near the intersection of Western Avenue and Walnut Street at approximately 11:47 a.m.

According to South Bend Police Captain Robert Hammer, 25-year-old Christopher Bender was traveling east on Western Avenue. 

Upon reaching the intersection of Western Avenue and Walnut Street, police say Bender road his bicycle through a red light and struck the side of a vehicle. 

Police say Bender suffered only minor injuries.
