Female victim hurt in shooting on Cushing Street in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — South Bend Police say a woman was shot in the chest at a home in the 600 block of Cushing Street late Monday night.
The call came in just after 11:30 p.m.
A 24-year-old woman was shot in the upper chest. The first officers on scene treated the victim until medics arrived.
She was taken to the hospital and is stable.
A 19-year-old woman suffered an injury to her ankle. She was not shot.
Police said there was an argument with an unknown person before shots were fired in the home.
