Police searching for hit and run suspect; Teen in hospital

St. Joseph County Police are searching for a suspect that hit a teen Monday night and fled the scene, leaving the teen with injuries.

The incident happened around 11:00 p.m. on Hepler Street in South Bend.

Police say a teen was riding her bike and walking with two other friends when someone driving a white four-door car hit and dragged her.

Officers believe the man was speeding when the accident happened.

The teen was taken to the hospital with a head injury.

Police believe the driver to be a white male and say the vehicle may have damage to the front right corner.
