Police searching for teen who jumped into river, never resurfaced

Elkhart County deputies are on the scene of Ash Road near Vistula Road for a teen who never resurfaced after jumping into water.

The call went out around 9:21 p.m. Tuesday night.

According to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth, a teenager was jumping from a rope swing into the river behind the Arbors at Riverbend apartment complex on Ash Road.

We are told that the victim's friend lives in the complex, but the victim is from Elkhart.

Dozens of other teens were on the scene after the incident happened.
