NILES, Mich. -- A woman was assaulted by two men in a home invasion Tuesday night in the 1100 black of Marion Street.

The Niles Police Department reports officers responded to the scene at around 11 p.m.

Officers learned the victim had been assaulted during the incident but wasn't seriously injured and didn't require medical treatment.

The victim told investigators she had just arrived home when she began unlocking her front door when two Black men armed with guns approached her.

The victim and the men then entered her home.

The suspects then stole cash and other personal property before fleeing the home and area.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the crime, or who may have surveillance or doorbell camera footage, to contact NPD at 269-683-1313.

A reward is also being offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects responsible.
