Police: Student brought knife to elementary school

Mishawaka Police say an 11-year-old student took a knife to Emmons Elementary School in Mishawaka on Tuesday.

Police said the boy was seen taking the folding knife out of his backpack to show his friends.

Police said the boy brought it for protection at the basketball courts near an apartment complex.

The student will be disciplined by the school.
