Police: Woman falls asleep at wheel, overturns vehicle on US 12

CASS COUNTY, Mich.—According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, a woman fell asleep at the wheel and overturned her vehicle on U.S. 12 on Monday morning.

Deputies responded to a personal injury crash in the area near U.S. 12 and Starbrick Road in Mason Township around 4:06 a.m. on Monday.

According to police, 45-year-old Kristi Lyn Shuler of Kingman, Arizona, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 12 when she fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the centerline, and overturned on the north side of the road.

Shuler was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

A seatbelt was worn and police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.
