Policing strategist to lead search for SBPD's next police chief for just $1

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- For just $1, as a way to give back to the community, Robert Wasserman said he's jumping on-board to help find South Bend's next Chief of Police.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg announced on Tuesday that Wasserman who assists cities and police departments across the country will conduct the search.

Buttigieg said he hopes to hire a police chief by the end of the year. Right now, Chuck Hurley is serving as the Interim Police Chief.
