Portage Township taking legal action against Cedar Glen Apartments

Portage Township is now taking legal action against the Cedar Glen Apartment Complex following complaints from many residents who say they're still dealing with a lack of heat or hot water during severe weather.

This week, trustee Jason Critchlow ordered the township’s legal counsel to take action against the owners of Cedar Glen.

“This unfair and dangerous situation cannot continue,” Critchlow said. “These residents should have the same right to expect reasonable conditions as anyone else. On behalf of the residents, the township will take whatever legal action is possible to rectify this situation and ensure accountability.”

Legal action will be on behalf of the township and Cedar Glen residents for “failure to provide a habitable space.”
