ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Douglas Road from Ironwood Road to Twyckenham Drive will shut down on April 11 for 60 days for road construction.
The road will be widened for additional lanes and an extension of the multi-use path along the north side of the road.
The closure is expected to last 60 days.
Once Douglas Road is reopened, the intersection of Ironwood and Douglas roads will be closed for 30 days. Crews will be widening the intersection and adding turn lanes.
The traffic light will also be upgraded.
The following detour routes will be posted:
Westbound: Ironwood Road will be used to carry traffic either north to Cleveland Road or south to State Road 23. From State Road 23, traffic is then detoured to Edison Road and then on to Twyckenham north to Douglas to complete the detour. Eastbound will be the reverse of the westbound route.
Access to the Warren Golf Course will be by entering Douglas Road from the west off of the Twyckenham roundabout and heading east to the golf course entrance.
