Portion of Jackson Boulevard set to reopen in Elkhart
ELKHART, Ind. – Mayor Tim Neese announced that Jackson Boulevard will reopen to traffic on August 1st.
Jackson Boulevard from Waterfall Drive to Elkhart Avenue has been closed since March as Phase I of Elkhart’s River District Streetscape Project.
Jackson Boulevard will be divided and lined for traffic with on-street parking and sidewalks.
The next phase of the project will close Elkhart Avenue from Jackson Boulevard to NIBCO Parkway, with the continue closure of Jackson Boulevard from Elkhart Avenue to Junior Achievement Drive.
According to the Mayor’s office, those areas are expected to reopen in the fall.

The revitalization project is posed to develop a vibrant space that will complement the existing atmosphere.
