Possible buyer for Chase Tower in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- There may be a buyer for the Chase Tower, the landmark high rise in downtown South Bend.



It has fallen into disrepair and bankruptcy in recent years.



The city of South Bend confirms that the building's owner and mortgage holder have signed off on an offer.



The next step is to finalize financing.



This is a private deal, but city officials say that the city of South Bend remains committed to facilitating the sale of this important downtown structure and to help efforts to revitalize it.
