Possible electrical failure ignites house fire in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. - Fire ripped through a home on Aspenwald Ave. in Elkhart Monday afternoon. Nobody was home at the time.

Investigators believe an electrical problem may have caused it.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they say heavy smoke and flames were pouring out the back windows. 

They battled it for a couple hours before getting it under control.

The owner returned while firefighters were putting out the flames.
