Potawatomi Zoo to open temporary entrance October 22

The Potawatomi Zoo's entrance and exit will change on October 22 through March 2020 due to construction.

On October 22, the membership booth, entrance and exit near the Learning Center and the doors closes to the Learning Center restroom will close for construction.

On October 25, the temporary entrance will open near the tiger habitat and the main entrance will officially close.

“This is when the dream of a new entrance starts to become reality,” said Marcy Dean, executive director of the Potawatomi Zoo in a press release. “I know that this new temporary entrance will have its challenges, but I hope that the difficulty of adapting to these changes will be offset by the excitement of the progress we make every day and the new animals we will be bringing in over the next year and a half.”

Crews will begin demolition on the front entrance on October 29.

The zoo will be open for regular hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until November 25.

Between November 23 and December 23 it will be open for The Gift of Lights, Friday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
