Power outages reported in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- Power outages are being reported in Cass County as of Thursday morning.

According to Midwest Energy & Communications, as of 3:45 a.m around 1,347 customers are without power following storms which moved into southwest Michigan Wednesday evening.

Jefferson, Howard, Milton, Calvin, Newberg, Ontwa, Fabius, Wayne and Paw Paw townships are experiencing power loss.

Broken poles and downed wires have been found by crews.

It's advisable to stay clear from downed power lines.

MEC says the next update on the status of power outages will occur around 11 a.m.
