NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The University of Notre Dame Democracy Initiative hosted a bipartisan talk on how to overcome the bitter political divide in the US on Friday.
University President Father Robert A. Dowd moderated the discussion with Utah Republican Governor Spencer Cox and New Mexico Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.
It comes one week after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah.
Security was tightened on campus for the event and both governors agree, Americans need to lower the political temperature, debate without hate, and listen to each other with open minds
