President, First Lady to attend memorial service in Texas

WEST, Texas — President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are scheduled to attend a memorial service in honor of the victims of a deadly explosion in West, Texas.

The small town will get some help from neighboring Waco while they honor those who died in a fertilizer plant explosion last week.

People who have been working since the accident will finally get a break.

"The city of Waco is going to come to our town and take over for our West city workers so they can attend funerals, be with their families, and get some much needed rest because since the accident happened, they have been working non-stop to get this water back up for our people," said Mayor Pro Tem Steve Vanek. "So when you see a Waco city worker here, they're our friends, they're here to help."

Fifteen people were killed in the explosion.
