SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- President of INDYCAR and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Doug Boles, made a pit stop at ABC57 News to discuss the Indianapolis 500 taking place on Memorial Day Weekend.
Drivers, crews, and hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the world are gearing up for the big event.
If you are heading to the 500 for the first time this year, Boles says one of the best experiences is all the festivities leading up to the green flag.
"If you've never been, the race is great but that lead up to the race is so powerful and so emotional, you don’t' want to miss it. So, I encourage people always be in your seats at least 45 minutes before the start of the race," said Boles.
If you are interested in going to the Indy 500 this, tickets are still available but are going fast.
