Protesters kick off 'Chicago Spring' rallies

CHICAGO, Ill. -- In Chicago, the occupy movement kicked off Saturday what it's calling ‘Chicago Spring’ with a citywide day of rallies.

Folks protested in 13 neighborhoods and in several city suburbs, all for a number of issues including those that fueled the original occupy movement, government spending and taxes.

"I want Medicare, social security. I want housing to be taken care of. I want the upper 1 percent to pay fair taxes," said Barb Hogman

"It’s important to let the 1 percent know we have gone nowhere and gotten stronger since the winter," said Mike Ehenreich.

‘Occupy Chicago’ also organized non-violent resistance training, as part of the day's events.
