Public invited to presentation about rebuild of South Bend fire station

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - South Bend residents are invited to attend a public presentation on Thursday to learn more about the city's plans to rebuild South Bend Fire Station 8.
The presentation will be held at 6 p.m. at Fire Station 8, located at 2402 S. Twyckenham Drive.
The new fire station is expected to accommodate both male and female firefighters and include safety systems that keep cancerous contaminants away from the firefighters' quarters that are used during 24-hour shifts.
These contaminants are often brought in on firefighters' gear after battling fires.
