Purdue shooting suspect has Warsaw address

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- One person was killed in a shooting on the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette Tuesday.


The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Andrew F. Boldt of West Bend, Wisconsin.


The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Cody Cousins. Purdue Police Chief Cox confirmed in a press conference that they had two addresses for Cousins and one is Warsaw, Indiana.


The shooting happened at the electrical engineering building around noon.


According to police, the suspect walked into the building, shot the victim, then left the building.


The suspect gave himself up to a West Lafayette Police officer without any trouble outside the building where the shooting happened five hours later.


The campus was on lockdown from a little after noon until 1:15 p.m.


The electrical engineering building is closed for the investigation.


Classes have been cancelled through Wednesday.


Thousands attended a vigil held Tuesday night.


School officials have announced that grief counselors will be on hand at the campus health center to help the campus community cope.


Cousins is being held without bond on murder charges. He's expected to appear in court Wednesday.
