Police pursuit ends with suspect crashing vehicle into ditch

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich.—A suspect lost control of his car and crashed into a ditch following a police pursuit on August 27, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.

On August 27, just after midnight, deputies with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office tried to stop a vehicle on Mintdale Road near Lutz Road for a speeding violation.

The vehicle did not stop and a pursuit reaching speeds of 100 MPH began, according to police.

The pursuit ended near Engle Road and Mintdale Road when the suspect vehicle lost control and crashed into a ditch, reports said.

Police said the driver, a 27-year-old Constantine man, was arrested and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on suspicion of fleeing and eluding, CCW, possession of meth, possession of burglary tools, possession of a police scanner while committing a felony, and felon in possession of ammunition.

According to police, the suspect also has several outstanding warrants for his arrest but they did not say what those warrants were for.
