Quaker Oats Company recalling multiple products across all 50 states

CHICAGO, Ill. -- On Friday the Quaker Oats Company announced the recall of certain granola bars, granola cereals, and snack boxes because they may be tainted with salmonella.

According to the United States Food and Drug Administration, healthy people infected with Salmonella can experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

In rare circumstances, salmonella infections can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

As of Dec. 18, the company says it has received no confirmed reports of illness related to the products covered by this recall and it has informed the FDA of its actions.

Some of the products being recalled are Quaker Big Chewy Bars Chocolate Chip, Quaker Big Chewy Bars Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Quaker Big Chewy Bars Variety Pack, Quaker Chewy Bars Chocolate Chip, Quaker Chewy Bars Cookie Dough, Quaker Chewy Bars Chocolate Chip Holiday Minis, and many more.
