Quiet Friday, Cold and snowy weekend

NOW: Quiet Friday, Cold and snowy weekend

ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast

Friday, December 12th, 2025

Side/rural roads will continue to be icy through the weekend, as temperatures will stay below freezing until next week. Expect fairly quiet but cold conditions today with highs in the 20s under partly sunny skies. Flurries will begin tonight.

Heading into the weekend, winds become breezy coming from the northwest, bringing below zero wind chill values and also lake effect snow showers. Snowfall totals are expected to be light, with about 2 inches likely to accumulate-- mainly in counties near the state line. Areas closest to the lake could receive more. System snow could also clip our southern counties of Michiana, bringing an inch or so in areas south of US -30.

Temperatures will struggle to get out of the teens this weekend with lows flirting with zero degrees Monday morning. We see relief by midweek next week, as temperatures finally climb above freezing and even reaching the 40s. This should melt ice and should improve road conditions.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, quiet. Flurries begin overnight. High 28.

Saturday: Lake Effect Snow. Very cold. High 18.

Sunday: AM Show Showers, breezy. High 20

Monday: Very cold, mostly sunny. High 18.
