After Tuesday’s torrential rain, more downpours possible Thursday
Today's forecast is messy all across Michiana with rain, snow, and gusty winds on the way. We'll start the morning relatively calm, a few rain showers should be moving in during the morning commute, likely around 8AM from our south. Most will see this rain switch over to snow or a wintry mix around midday with heavy snow likely during the afternoon. Snow totals are tricky to forecast with this type of system with temperatures towing the line between precipitation types, but it looks like the highest totals should mainly fall northeast of South Bend. To make things worse, winds will also pick up today, likely exceeding 40 mph at times. The greatest impacts with the heaviest snow and strongest winds should be right before and during the evening commute, likely between 3PM and 6PM. Snow will move out early tonight, the weekend looks dry and mild.
Today: Rain/snow and windy. High 38.
Tonight: Snow early. Low 30.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy. High 40.
Sunday: Partly cloudy. High 46.
