Recalled 2001 Ford Escape causes massive garage fire in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. -- There is an update on a garage fire in Elkhart.
The fire nearly burned down the family's Oak Grove Drive home on Thursday night.
Firefighters are still investigating the cause.
But the family told us that there is no doubt that it started underneath the hood of their 2001 Ford Escape.
On Friday, we did some digging and discovered that the car was recalled in 2007 for that very problem!
But get this -- the family said they knew nothing about it!
