Recent clashes with Michigan State provide wild finishes

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -

The past 15 years between Michigan State and Notre Dame have provided countless classics.

Starting in 2000 when Michigan State's Jeff Smoker found Herb Haygood for a game winning touchdown in the final seconds.

Then in 2002, Arnez Battle took a pass from backup quarterback Pat Dillingham and took it 60 yards in a wild 4th quarter comeback.

There's the 2006 game where Notre Dame rallied from 16 down in the 4th quarter to stun Michigan State at Spartan Stadium

Or 2010, when Michigan State faked a field goal in overtime that some still call one of the "gutsiest calls ever."

Seven times since the turn of the century, Notre Dame and Michigan State have had a game come down to the wire and with the season on the line for the Irish Saturday, there's no reason to think that this year's matchup won't add another chapter into this great rivalry.
