Registered sex offender arrested twice in two days

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – A registered sex offender was arrested twice in two days on a number of charges, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Devante Halcomb is a registered sex offender convicted of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor, reports said.

Since he is classified as a sexually violent predator, he is required to register every 90 days or any information changes within 72 hours. He also must keep an identification card in his possession with his current address that must be updated within 30 days of changing addresses.

During an investigation, law enforcement found that Halcomb failed to possess current identification and failed to register employment and contact information.

On March 30, Halcomb was found at the Red Rock Hotel and was taken into custody.

He posted his bond of $1,500 cash the same day.

On March 31, Halcomb was taken into custody again for a parole violation warrant.

He is lodged in the Marshall County Jail on no bond.
