Registration now open for 2022 Polar Plunge

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Registration is now open for the sixth annual 2022 Polar Plunge, hosted by the Special Olympics Indiana Team and the South Bend Cubs on February 26.

The Polar Plunge challenges individuals to take a winter dip to raise funds that impact the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.

Funds raised by the Polar Plunge directly benefit more than 18,000 Special Olympics athletes in Indiana.

“Special Olympics Indiana works to ensure that persons with intellectual disabilities are included, empowered, and recognized as contributing members of their communities,” said President & CEO of Special Olympics Indiana Jeff Mohler.

Participants who raise a minimum of $85 for Special Olympics Indiana will get an official Polar Plunge long-sleeved t-shirt. Additional prizes will be awarded to participants who raise more.

In 2021, 19 people were recognized as “Super Plungers,” raising a minimum of $4,000 for the Special Olympics.

Those who donate $20 or more to the South Bend Cubs plunge will be entered to win a gameday ticket package.
