SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- Gas prices have been falling steadily.
They went down even more over night at Phillips 66 on 933 in South Bend.
Regular unleaded gas started at $3.22 and just earlier this week it was $3.30. The national average has also dropped to $3.30.
Just last year it was $3.50. Driver's are thrilled for the drop.
"I think it's great. I think this is needed. People are already burdened not having jobs and maybe a little break will help them feel a little relief and feel a little bit better about everything," said Linda Verteramo.
At the start of the summer that was supposed to be the "5 Dollar Summer" the average was $3.61 just one month ago.
