Representative wants to end Smoker's Bill of Rights in Goshen

Indiana State Representative Wes Culver of Goshen is hoping to pass a bill that will repeal the 1991 Smoker's Bill of Rights.

If the bill is repealed, employers could deny jobs to smokers.

Culver says it is not that he is against smokers, he just does not believe a smoker's lifestyle decision should affect businesses who pay health insurance.

“I'm here to protect the freedoms of individuals. They have the right to smoke, and businesses can allow smoking if they want, or they can choose not to,” says Culver.
