Rescued puppy mill dogs get foster homes

All the dogs rescued from an Ohio puppy mill will have a place to call home.

The Heartland Small Animal Rescue says they have more than 50 applications for the 13 dogs they rescued.

They were moved here after Ohio made changes in animal laws and a puppy mill had to give up its dogs.

Heartland says they are stunned by the community's support. The next hurdle is getting the dogs to the vet.

"The costliest part of this whole endeavor is the vet.  It will probably be between $300 and $500 for each one of those dogs to be medicated, to be spayed or neutured, to be completely vaccinated with what they need," said Linda Candler, Heartland Small Animal Rescue.

We're told all of the dogs should be placed in homes by this weekend.
