Resident hospitalized after apartment fire

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Firefighters were called to a fire at a residence in the 400 block of S. 27th Street Tuesday just before 2 p.m.

Firefighters pulled one person from the home and performed CPR. The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital with burns on their hands and face.

The apartment had smoke and fire damage in the living, according to South Bend Fire Captain Dave Pritz.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
