Residents line up to buy tickets for house being raffled off
Residents of St. Joseph County lined up in the lobby of the Mishawaka Medical Center Tuesday afternoon to grab their raffle tickets for a brand new home.
For the 26th year, the Foundation of Saint Joseph Health System is raffling off that home for $150 a ticket. The house is new and near Notre Dame.
Second place will receive either a brand new Honda Civic or Nissan Sentra.
There are 44-prizes in all.
The money raised goes to the Sister Maura Brannick Health Center and Women's Care Center in South Bend.
"The house is beautiful. It's four bedrooms, it has a finished basement, all kind of top of the line stainless steel appliances, beautiful cabinets. It really just is a lovely home," said Clair Freddoso, Outreach Director for Women's Care Center.
"Participating in events like this kind of, not only are you entering for this really awesome prize but you're also helping residents right here in South Bend," said Emily Clem, Grant and Community Investment Specialist with the St. Joseph Health System.
Raffle tickets went on sale Tuesday morning, March 7th at the Saint Joseph Health System Mishawaka Medical Center on Holy Cross Parkway.
Only 4,100 tickets will be sold and that drawing will be held in May.
