Residents of hardest-hit areas of West to return home

WEST, Texas — For the first time since the deadly explosion in West, Texas, all residents are being allowed back into their homes.

Inspectors divided the homes into categories depending on how livable they are now.

Nearly every house in the area suffered structural damage.

"What's here outside is basically all that's left. There's no furniture salvageable inside. There are no walls even up," said Amber Zahirniak, a West resident.

The mayor of the city says insurance agents were also allowed in to help assess the damage.
