Residents of South Bend Housing Authority treated to Thanksgiving dinner

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Residents at the South Bend Housing Authority sat down for some turkey dinner Thanksgiving afternoon.

Women from the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority served the food.

Many of the residents either did not have family nearby or are too sick to travel.

"I think it's important that we feel like a community and I think doing events like this where they all come together, eat together, play together, then they also pray for for each other," said Babara Lawson the resident life administrator for Memorial Community Health Enhancement.

Hope Ministries who provided all the food for the event.

And close to 80 residents enjoyed live entertainment while eating with friends.
