Restaurant Weeks in downtown South Bend making a comeback

SOUTH BEND, Ind. --- Downtown South Bend’s annual Restaurant Weeks is making a comeback on January 24th! Restaurant Weeks happens twice a year and gives locals the chance to explore the variety of cuisine that downtown South Bend has to offer. It gives many locally-owned businesses a great opportunity to serve new dishes and offer specially-priced menus. For customers, they can try something new at their favorite spots.

“It’s a really good opportunity for us to showcase the new menu items and kind of show that we’re not just pizza, we have a little bit more to us,” says Kelsey Landsberg, Bar Manager at The Lauber. “We are actually playing a lot with our new smoker, we’re doing a lot of barbecue this upcoming summer so this is kind of a way to preview some of that.”

“This year we bring a brand-new menu that has a brand-new item,” says Davis Li, Manager at Woochi. “It’s a set menu for $49.99 per person but you can choose a starter, a sushi roll, and a main entrée, and it comes with dessert as well.”

And the benefits do not stop there. Not only can you enjoy good food, but you can also feel good knowing that ten percent of each meal purchased during Restaurant Weeks will be donated directly to Beacon Children’s Hospital. The participating restaurants are very happy to be including this donation.

It’s one of the reasons that we do this every year as well,” Davis Li says. “Because ten percent of the sales is going to be a good for a cause. So we join the event every year.”

Some other local favorites on this year’s lineup include PEGGS, the Chocolate Café, Fiddler’s Hearth, and Café Navarre. With 17 participating restaurants and a variety of cuisine to offer, there is truly something for everyone to try. It can also be a fun twist to incorporate on a week night.
