UPDATE: The Michigan Department of Transportation reports although it's unclear exactly what the issue was, an MDOT electrician replaced a fuse, and the bridge is operational.

ORIGINAL STORY: BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety reports the Bicentennial Bridge between Benton Harbor and St. Joseph is again stuck open as of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials say repair crews are enroute, but the Department of Transportation has not officially announced the closure.

Authorities say every time travel is restricted by the bridge, it delays response for police, fire, and EMS services.
