Riverside and Angela is open to thru traffic

SOUTH BEND, Ind. –- Drivers are rejoicing in South Bend! The new roundabout at Riverside and Angela is open!
On Thursday morning, Mayor Steve Luecke was first to take a spin on the new road. Drivers we talked to say they are ecstatic that the project is complete.
The road has been closed since May, and it created quite the traffic headache!
"Two hours, especially football games. It was two hours or more you have to go through downtown and roundabouts is the thing. Later, they can take down all the lights,” said Randale Green, a driver.
The $3.1 million project also includes a new water main and a manmade channel that looks like a creek.
