After closure in 2020, YMCA reopens in downtown
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – You might want to think about your Monday morning travel route in South Bend.
The Michigan Street and Jefferson Boulevard intersection will close for a few weeks.
It is part of the Michigan Street Improvement Project and begins Monday, August 19.
Motorists can expect to see new pavement to the four blocks between Colfax and Western Avenues.
There will also be angled street parking on Michigan Street. New curbs, sidewalks and lighting are planned for Wayne Street and Western Avenue.
Instead of traffic lights at Michigan Street and Jefferson Boulevard, and Michigan and Washington Streets, a four way stop is planned due to low traffic volumes.
