BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A section of Point o' Woods Drive collapsed after heavy rain washed out a culvert underneath the road, according to the Berrien County Road Department.
Part of the road is shut down until further notice.
Point o' Woods Drive is the only access road to a nearby neighborhood, cutting off public street access for 16 homes.
The road department set up a temporary access road through a golf course at the nearby Point o' Woods Golf and Country Club.
Residents are currently driving on golf cart paths to reach Roslin Road.
Officials believe it will take at least two months to repair the damage but are looking for short-term solutions to reopen the road.
The road department plans to install a large new concrete box culvert in the area to avoid the same type of incident in the future.
