Santa sparks holiday joy at two First Fridays
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka Police Department is investigating a Road rage incident that ended with a crash and shots fired near Mishawaka Avenue and Liberty Dr. around 7:30 p.m.
The incident started as a Domestic dispute at the Irish Hills Apartment complex in South Bend where a female fled the scene in her car being chased by the male subject in his car.
The male chased the female through the streets of South Bend and Mishawaka, prompting several calls to St. Joseph County Dispatch about the road rage incident which ended with both vehicles colliding at Mishawaka Ave. and Liberty Drive.
The female fled the scene to find assistance at the Mishawaka Police Department.
The male was seen running south toward the riverbank where shots were fired as Mishawaka Officers arrived on scene.
A short time later another shot was heard by officers on scene.
The male was found on the riverbank where he succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The identity of the male is being withheld pending notification by next of kin.
