Robert Hurley sentenced to 20 years for strangling roommate

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind.  -- The man accused of killing his roommate by strangling him with a cord was sentenced to 20 years in prison.


Robert Edward Hurley accepted a plea agreement and was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter, a class B felony.


He was given credit for 942 days served. Of that he served 471 days - and was given an additional good time credit of 471 days.


On March 3, 2013, deputies were called to the Hideaway Hills Mobile Home Park for a welfare check.

When they arrived, they found 51-year-old Lionel Dale King deceased.


He had been strangled with a cord.
