Robotics tailgating event for black youth

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Notre Dame Center for Civic Innovation collaborates with 100 Black Men of Greater South Bend Inc. to hold a tailgate for black youth this Saturday.

Students from grades 2-12 in the Freedman Academy, 100 Black Men’s mentorship program for black youth, are participating along with CCI and Notre Dame student-athletes.

The tailgate marks the end of the robotics course designed by CCI interns and Notre Dame student-athletes in summer 2021. Following a robotics activity, students and team members will celebrate before heading to the Blue-Gold game.

The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and is held at the Notre Dame Center for Civic Innovation at 1045 W. Washington St. in South Bend.
