Rochester Community Schools will move to virtual learning for two weeks

ROCHESTER, Ind.—Rochester Community Schools announced Monday that all schools will be closed for in-person learning through November 16.

The district said it anticipates reopening schools on November 17.

While school buildings are closed, students will participate in virtual learning beginning November 3.

Meal service for all students who want it will begin November 4.

The closure is due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to the district.

“We apologize for the inconvenience, but due to COVID and those throughout the district who are either symptomatic or quarantined, it is necessary for us to safeguard all,” Superintendent Jana Vance said in a letter dated November 2.
